Celeiq

About Celeiq.

Celeiq is an iPhone app that reads the full ingredient list of any beauty product, including from a screenshot of an online shop, and explains what each ingredient means for your skin, sensitivities and goals. Every answer shows where it comes from.

Why Celeiq exists

Ingredient lists are public, accurate and nearly impossible to act on. A face cream can list forty or more ingredients, most of them in technical INCI names. Existing apps try to help by turning that list into a single score or a red, amber or green label. We think that hides the most useful part: why, and for whom.

Celeiq takes the other route. It keeps the whole label, reads it against what you've told it about your skin, and shows the evidence behind every point, including when the honest answer is "we don't know yet".

What we believe

Where we are

Celeiq is in development and launching on iPhone soon. Behind the app is a catalog of product listings from major US beauty retailers, the EU's CosIng reference database of cosmetic ingredients, and a growing body of ingredient research. You can read how we use it in How we judge ingredients, or start with our ingredient guides.

Who's behind it

Celeiq is an independent project founded by Zam Taranto. Questions, corrections and press: hello@celeiq.app. If you think we've got something wrong, we want to hear about it.
